Mr. Van Der Pol gave a message that focused on Matthew 18:20 where it says, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” He explained that it is important to work together as a new school body of believers - we can’t do it on our own!

He also gave an object lesson on how our new school is like a bag filled with different types of shoes. Each one of the shoes is different from the other. Each shoe has its own purpose and is used for different things. And yet they all have something in common…they are all shoes! They all protect help you move forward while protecting your feet, whether going to school or skating or walking to the beach, etc. Our new school is like a bag of shoes Each person in the school has his or her own purpose. We are each blessed with different gifts that we can use in God‘s work to help make the school strong. Some of us are wonderful singers, some are terrific leaders. Some of us know when someone is feeling down and needs a hug or a word of encouragement. Some of us are teachers, some of us are students. Some of us can smile in a way that makes all the rest of us feel the light of God in our souls.
